about

Marking the label's first release, Ommaya co-founder Kekoa Michael Knief, aka "noRecall" and "Jennifer", offers up "Surveillance" a sonically diverse welcome pack delivered straight from his ADD daydreams.

The EP opens with title track "Surveillance", a sound experience audibly mimicking the feeling of mounting uneasiness, shifting quickly from a subtle eeriness before completely piercing the veil with a broken gut-punch,

"I wanted to make something that was driving and coupled with drone-like sounds, signaling the paranoia that comes with living in a surveillance state like the United States in the age of information."- noRecall

Next up is "Idols", a thoroughly hypnotic track that continues to carry the pace set by its predecessor. "Idols" proudly celebrates the impact that some of noRecall's inspirations have on his creations while also showcasing his individual talent.

"I had Bambounou in mind when I made this. He's so cool." - noRecall

The EP closes with "Changeling", a finale diverse in sound direction and genre influence, serving as both a representation of noRecall's conflicting internal emotions and a calling card to some of our favorites across the pond who are absolutely evolving the scene with their sound.

"This track depicts my bipolar disorder - I'm attempting to walk the line between that UK smooth garage vibe and that "west coast" bass and glitch vibe. - noRecall"

The "Surveillance" EP marks an ongoing transformation in noRecall's sound that will continue to be revealed on Ommaya.
